It is designed for products such as streamers, CD players and preamplifiers from Pro-Ject's Box Design series and also features a dedicated 15 V output for a compatible DC-powered Pro-Ject turntable. This allows several separate standard power supplies to be replaced by one central solution.The linear design uses a powerful audio-grade toroidal transformer instead of a switch-mode power supply. The transformer features copper foil shielding between the primary and secondary windings, helping to isolate connected audio components from electrical interference originating from the mains. Combined with low output impedance and high filtration capacity, the power supply is designed to provide stable, low-noise power to connected equipment. Six separate power outputs:The Power Box DS3 Sources features two 9 V outputs delivering up to 2 A per output, three 18 V outputs delivering up to 1 A per output, and one 15 V output designed for a compatible DC-powered Pro-Ject turntable. Six suitable standard cables are included: two 9 V cables with 1.3 mm connectors, three 18 V cables with 2.5 mm connectors and one 15 V cable with a 2.1 mm connector.The 15 V turntable output is not intended for models with high power consumption and heavy, mass-loaded platters. This applies to the X8, Xtension 9, Xtension 10, Xtension 12, RPM 9, RPM 10 and models from the Signature series. The power supply is also not intended for integrated amplifiers or power amplifiers. Stable power with extensive filtration:A filtration capacity of 10,000 µF, low-ESR capacitors and precise voltage regulation work together to maintain a stable power supply. Output voltage ripple is specified at below 1 mV. The design also incorporates low-noise components and surge protection.The soft-start system reduces high inrush current when the unit is switched on. The rigid aluminium enclosure helps provide shielding against external electrical interference. A 2.5 mm trigger output also enables integration with compatible equipment. For installations requiring different cable lengths, Pro-Ject Connect it Power cables are available separately in lengths of 0.82 m, 1.23 m and 1.85 m.
