HDMI – SPDIF toslink / coax

Please note that HDMI signals can carry a higher quality audio signal (more channels and higher resolution) than optical and coaxial SPDIF cables can. Therefore, audio formats such as Dolby True HD and DTS master audio will be down-converted to ordinary Dolby Digital or DTS, or disappear completely when converting from HDMI to SPDIF (optical/coax).
