DiSEqC stands for "Digital Satellite Equipment Control" and is pronounced "Die-Sec". A DiSEqC is a type of switch that can switch between the different LNB heads on a satellite dish. The reason why you need a DiSEqC is because most satellite receivers today only have 1 LNB input and you often want more LNB heads (more positions) on your satellite dish. If you want to connect 2 or more LNB heads, you must use a DiSEqC to control this. DiSEqC typically uses 22 kHz as a signal generator to make this switching happen, the commands are sent digitally from the satellite receiver, as a single message. The satellite receiver therefore functions as a signal generator for the DiSEqC switch and tells you with these digital messages which LNB input to switch to. Almost all digital satellite receivers on the market can use DiSEqC.
In this section you will find DiSEqC switches for receiving up to several DVB-S satellite positions for outdoor and indoor use. If reception from several satellite positions is desired, several LNB units must of course be added to the satellite dish and a DiSEqC for switching these LNB/positions.
