Network isolation for demanding AV installations:

SilentPower LAN iSilencer 4/8/12 is designed for professional and custom AV installations where network connections can provide a path for electrical noise and interference between connected equipment. The series is available in three variants with 4, 8 or 12 RJ45 input/output pairs, allowing the same isolation principle to be used in installations with different network connection requirements.

Each input/output pair is individually isolated and shielded with dedicated grounding. Transformer-based galvanic isolation electrically separates connected endpoint devices from the wider network and is rated at 1500 Vrms. This helps reduce common-mode interference and noise caused by ground loops while allowing Ethernet data to pass through the device.

Passive RF filtering in the signal path:

In addition to galvanic isolation, LAN iSilencer 4/8/12 uses passive RF filtering to reduce high-frequency radio frequency interference that can travel through network cables alongside the data signal. The filtering operates passively and is applied after the galvanic isolation stage to further reduce residual interference.

This is particularly relevant in extensive network-based AV systems where numerous components, cables and electrical devices can contribute to interference. The purpose is to provide connected AV equipment with a cleaner and more stable network connection without changing the fundamental Ethernet infrastructure. LAN iSilencer supports 10, 100 and 1000 Mbps and uses female RJ45 connectors on both the input and output sides.

Protection for every network connection:

Each isolated input/output pair also incorporates SilentPower's Transient Voltage Suppression system. It is designed to protect connected components against sudden voltage spikes and transients and is rated for a peak transient power of 400 W.

The combination of galvanic isolation, RF filtering and transient protection brings several functions together for each individual network connection. This makes LAN iSilencer 4/8/12 suitable as a central connection point in network-based AV installations where multiple devices require the same type of electrical isolation and filtering. The choice between 4-In/4-Out, 8-In/8-Out and 12-In/12-Out also makes it possible to match the number of isolated connections to the size of the installation.

Ready for rack-based installations:

All three variants use a compact enclosure with the same external dimensions of 21.3 x 13.3 x 4.1 cm. The design is compatible with SilentPower OMNI RACK Mount, a 1U rack mounting system. This makes the series suitable for organised AV and network installations where equipment is installed in a rack.

The main differences between the variants are the number of network connections and their weight. The 4-In/4-Out version weighs 630 g, the 8-In/8-Out version weighs 690 g, while the 12-In/12-Out version weighs 752 g. This allows the required capacity to be selected without changing key technical characteristics such as Ethernet speed, isolation, filtering and transient protection.
