Easy expansion of your wired network:

The D-Link GO-SW-8G is a compact 8-port Gigabit Ethernet switch designed to expand an existing wired network. Its eight RJ-45 ports support 10/100/1000 Mbps, allowing computers, NAS devices, printers, gaming consoles, network cameras and other Ethernet devices to connect through one central switch. Connect the switch to an available LAN port on your router, and the remaining ports can be used for additional network devices.

The GO-SW-8G is unmanaged and therefore requires no manual configuration for standard network operation. Auto MDI/MDI-X automatically detects the connection type on the ports, while automatic MAC address learning enables the switch to identify connected devices. This makes it suitable for expanding an existing network with additional Gigabit Ethernet connections without requiring managed switch functions.

Gigabit performance and efficient data traffic:

With a total switching capacity of 16 Gbit/s, the GO-SW-8G is designed to handle Gigabit traffic across its eight ports. At Gigabit Ethernet speeds, the switch can forward up to 1,488,000 packets per second per port. Large data packets are supported through Jumbo Frames of up to 9216 bytes, which can be useful when transferring larger amounts of data between compatible network devices.

The switch uses store-and-forward transmission, receiving and checking Ethernet frames before forwarding them to the appropriate port. IEEE 802.3x flow control helps regulate data traffic under load. The model also supports IEEE 802.1p QoS for network traffic prioritisation and IEEE 802.3az Energy-Efficient Ethernet, which can reduce power consumption during periods of low network activity.

Compact switch for desktop placement:

The compact enclosure makes the switch easy to place on a desk or alongside other network equipment. The Ethernet ports and power connection are positioned on the rear, allowing cables to be routed away from the work area. LED indicators show power status as well as link and activity for the individual ports, making it easy to check the physical network connections.

The GO-SW-8G measures just 2.25 x 7.5 x 14.2 cm (H x W x L) and is designed for desktop placement. Power is supplied through an external 5 V / 1 A adapter. Its compact construction and eight Gigabit ports make the switch practical where additional wired network connections are required without the need for a rack-mounted or managed network switch.
