Easy upgrade to Gigabit Ethernet:

The D-Link GO-SW-5G is a compact 5-port Gigabit switch designed to expand a wired network with high-speed Ethernet connections. The five RJ45 ports support 10/100/1000BASE-T, allowing computers, network equipment and other compatible Ethernet devices to connect at up to Gigabit speeds. With a total switching capacity of 10 Gbit/s, the switch is designed to handle traffic efficiently between its five ports.

The GO-SW-5G is an unmanaged switch and therefore requires no manual network configuration. Auto-negotiation adjusts the connection to the supported speed, while Auto MDI/MDIX automatically handles the cable type on all ports. Installation is straightforward: connect the power, plug in the Ethernet cables, and the switch is ready to use. LED indicators also provide a quick overview of power, link and activity status on the ports.

Efficient network traffic management:

The switch's high bandwidth is complemented by features for efficient data packet processing. IEEE 802.1p Quality of Service, QoS, can prioritise time-sensitive network traffic, helping important traffic to be handled efficiently when network load increases. IEEE 802.3x Flow Control helps manage the data flow, while large Jumbo Frames of up to 9,216 bytes are supported.

The GO-SW-5G uses store-and-forward switching, where data packets are checked before being forwarded to the appropriate port. The MAC address table holds 2,000 addresses, and the switch can forward up to 1,488,000 packets per second per port with Gigabit Ethernet. The internal packet buffer is 128 KB. This combination makes the switch a practical way to expand an existing Gigabit network when additional wired network ports are required.

Energy-efficient and compact design:

D-Link Green technology and IEEE 802.3az Energy-Efficient Ethernet, EEE, help reduce power consumption when network activity is low. Unused ports can enter a power-saving mode, and the switch can also adjust power consumption according to the length of the connected Ethernet cable. This happens automatically without requiring user configuration.

The compact enclosure measures just 9.1 x 7.3 x 2.2 cm and weighs 80 g. The GO-SW-5G is designed for desktop placement and features a fanless construction. Power is supplied via a 5 V / 1 A power supply. The combination of five Gigabit ports, automatic configuration and a compact enclosure makes it easy to add extra wired connections without installing a managed network switch.
