Managed Gigabit switch with PoE:

The D-Link DGS-1210-10P/E is a Smart Managed Layer 2 network switch with eight Gigabit Ethernet ports and two SFP slots. The eight RJ45 ports support 10/100/1000BASE-T and PoE, allowing compatible network devices to receive both data and power through the Ethernet cable. This reduces the need for separate power supplies at connected devices and provides greater flexibility when positioning equipment such as IP cameras, wireless access points and IP phones.

The PoE ports support IEEE 802.3af and IEEE 802.3at. The switch also features two 100/1000 Mbps SFP slots for Gigabit connections using compatible SFP transceivers. This makes it possible to integrate fibre into the network, for example as an uplink between different parts of an installation. Auto MDI/MDIX on the copper ports simplifies cabling, while support for Cat5 and Cat5e provides compatibility with common Ethernet cabling.

Network traffic management and control:

As a managed switch, the DGS-1210-10P/E provides a range of functions for managing and optimising the network. Web-based management makes it possible to configure the switch beyond the basic functionality of a fully unmanaged model. Quality of Service can be used to prioritise traffic, while link aggregation makes it possible to combine connections when supported by the network configuration.

Port mirroring is integrated for traffic monitoring and troubleshooting, and the switch supports multicast. IEEE 802.3x flow control contributes to controlled data transmission, while ACL and MAC address filtering provide options for managing network access. The MAC address table supports 8,000 entries. With a switching capacity of 20 Gbit/s and a forwarding rate of 14.88 Mpps, the hardware is designed to handle Gigabit traffic across the switch ports.

Flexible installation and energy-efficient operation:

The DGS-1210-10P/E features a fanless design, so operation does not require an active cooling fan. D-Link Green features and IEEE 802.3az Energy Efficient Ethernet are designed to reduce unnecessary power consumption, including when Ethernet connections are idle. The switch has an operating temperature range of -5 to 50 °C, providing a broad operating range for network installations.

The enclosure has a height of 4.4 cm and is specified as 1U. Its compact format is combined with rack-mounting capability, allowing the switch to be integrated into an organised network installation. LED indicators provide visual information about operation and connections. The unit weighs 1.62 kg and has a black enclosure.
