Gigabit switch with PoE for network devices:

The D-Link DGS-1100-08PV2 is a compact Smart Managed switch with eight 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet ports. All eight ports support Power over Ethernet according to IEEE 802.3af/at, allowing compatible network devices to receive both data and power through the Ethernet cable. This simplifies cabling when connecting PoE-based network equipment.

The switch has a total PoE budget of 64 W, while each individual port can deliver up to 30 W. The DGS-1100-08PV2 provides a switching capacity of 16 Gbps and a maximum forwarding rate of 11.9 Mpps. Auto-negotiation and Auto MDI/MDIX on the Ethernet ports also provide flexibility when establishing physical network connections.

Smart management of network traffic:

The DGS-1100-08PV2 provides access to essential management functions through a web-based interface. VLAN support enables logical network segmentation, with support for features including 802.1Q VLAN, port-based VLAN, Voice VLAN and Surveillance VLAN. This makes it possible to separate different types of network traffic without requiring separate physical networks.

For traffic management and prioritisation, the switch supports IEEE 802.1p QoS with four queues as well as SP and Weighted Round Robin. Additional features include IGMP snooping, link aggregation, port mirroring, bandwidth control and storm control. Loop protection helps manage unintended network loops, while cable diagnostics can assist with troubleshooting cable connections.

Fanless design and PoE management:

The fanless construction allows the switch to operate without noise from a cooling fan. Its compact desktop format also makes it suitable for installations where a traditional rack-mounted switch is not required.

PoE features include PD Alive, which can monitor connected PoE devices and automatically attempt to restart a device through its power supply if it stops responding as expected. The DGS-1100 series also supports Time-Based PoE, allowing PoE power delivery to be controlled according to a schedule. IEEE 802.3az Energy Efficient Ethernet is supported and helps reduce energy consumption when network connections do not require full capacity.
