DIN to 3.5 mm jack adapter:

Kompakt adapter that connects 7 pin DIN equipment with 3.5 mm jack. The jack plug is constructed with three ground connections combined in the plug, making the adapter suitable for equipment that requires a triple ground connection. Ideal for HiFi, vintage audio equipment and special audio connections.

If the source is a Bang & Olufsen turntable, the DIN connection contains 3 separate conductors, each with its own ground potential.

Other sources only have a single ground for audio.

A jack input only has a single ground connection.

Triple Ground, therefore all 3 ground connections lead to the Jack connector.
