B & O compatible adaptor cable based on audio cable in good quality, fitted with gold plated phono plugs and trigger cable fitted with Mini Jack (mono) male connector to use 12V trigger from 3rd party surround / stereo equipment. The cable comes out in an 8-pin DIN female connector that gives the opportunity to pass signals in existing or new Powerlink cables.

The cable is constructed with an internal 12-5 volt step-down for the protection of B & O speakers Powerlink port normally specified for max 5V (2.5V-5V in switched mode) and when you use a cable without internal step-down, you will supply the speaker Powerlink port with 12 Volt, which at worst can go and short circuit the powerlink plug of the speaker. Notice that this adaptor cable takes care of the problems you have when using third-party stereo or surround equipment with a 12V trigger for on / off of external devices with B & O speakers.

Note: Some people may experience a humming or hissing sound in their speakers if you connect this trigger cable to certain brands of amplifiers / processors. This is due to the ground connection that is on the mini Jack trigger connector. However, this can be removed using a trigger power adapter .

Some active B & O speakers have a standard. line input (RCA RCA 'Line'), which the speaker can trigger on and it is basically also a good solution with a third-party system wich is used for music, but when you use B & O speakers in a surround setup, there is a risk that the speaker switches off during quiet passages in the movie and the speaker then can take a while to start up when there is passages with sound again. The problem with on and off switching does not happen with this trigger cable, since it ensures that the speaker is turned on as long as the amplifier (trigger) is on (remember that the little switch in B & O speaker must be either ' L 'or' R 'depending on whether it is Left or Right speaker).

Active B & O speakers which are equipped only with a Powerlink such as BeoLab 2 BeoLab 11 BeoLab 7-1 and BeoLab 7-4 etc. can take advantage of this cable because you dont have the option to use line input on these.

Notice: Can be used for all B & O BeoLab speakers with Powerlink, except BeoLab 5 and Beolab 3000/5000 speakers - CAN NOT BE USED FOR BEOLAB 5 AND BEOLAB 3000/5000!

Do you need more trigger/DC outputs?
If you need trigger / DC outputs on your amp / receiver, you can use the following adaptor in small installations: HQ-ADAP010 and for larger installations you can use AV advance Trigger 1-to-6 splitter adaptor cable.
