Firewire (DV) cable

Firewire cabled for digital video transmission (DV cable), also known by the IEEE1394 standard, is often used between Mac computers and external units.

The Firewire standard, also known as DV, iLink and IEEE1394 cables, can be used for many purposes, ranging from high-speed data transfer between computers and peripherals, digital video and audio transmission between, e.g. digital camcorders and PC or DVD recorders. The Firewire cable type has other applications and is used a lot in the Mac universe.
