The most widespread antenna cables, among others, for radio and TV, is characterized by always being a well-shielded 75 Ohm coaxial cable, with plug-in connectors as per purpose (IEC, SMA, F-plugs, etc.). Such a coaxial cable can also be used to transmit digital audio and analog picture signals; however, they are most often in other thicknesses where it is suitable for AV purposes..

Other types of 50 Ohms coaxial antenna cable are used, for, e.g., and Wi-Fi antennas older radio systems.

What antenna plugs to use for what?

The most common antenna plugs used in both TV and FM radios are the traditional coaxial IEC connectors in male and female connectors. F-connectors are mainly used for the antenna installation itself when connecting antenna amplifiers, splitter, etc., as well as for satellite/satellite installations.
