LNB stands for "Low-Noise Block converter" and is a satellite dish head that converts the microwave signals from the satellites into a signal that is understandable for the satellite receiver. A universal LNB head receives both polarizations (vertical and horizontal) and the full range of frequencies in the satellite's Ku band.
The microwave signals have great difficulty penetrating walls, roofs, and windows, and therefore a parabolic dish with an LNB head must always be placed outdoors and, of course, point in the right direction.
