An integrated stereo amplifier is the most common Hi-Fi amplifier type and actually consists of a preamplifier part combined with a power amplifier, in a single device, and primarily with 2 channels (stereo).
Stereo receivers are equivalent to the integrated amplifiers, only with either radio and/or streaming and possibly other player functionality built in as well.
For a traditional stereo system, you must use an amplifier to amplify the sound from e.g. a CD player, streaming player, radio or similar. in order to drive the speakers. It is therefore always important to find the right amplifier based on your speakers, small satellite speakers can often easily get by with a small amplifier, where large floor speakers naturally require more juice and power and naturally a larger amplifier. In addition, it is of course important to choose an amplifier that matches the speakers well in terms of sound.
