A good amplifier is the most crucial component in either a Hi-Fi stereo when you disregard the speakers of course. An amplifier is used, as the name suggests to amplify the sound from the signal-level to a powerful level that can physically operate ordinary passive speakers.
The power of the amplifier is measured in watts (W) at a particular speaker load, measured in ohms, e.g., 2x 50W in 8 Ohm. However, there are many ways to calculate the effect, and it is therefore often not particularly comparable from one amplifier to another. Contact us for advice and guidance on selecting an amplifier for your needs, as it depends entirely on speaker selection, desire for sound pressure and, not least, sound quality.
