A good amplifier is the most important component in either a Hi-Fi stereo system, apart from the speakers of course. An amplifier is used, as the name suggests, to amplify the sound from signal level to a powerful level that can drive ordinary passive speakers.
The power of the amplifier is measured in Watts (W) at a certain speaker load measured in Ohms, e.g. 2x 50W in 8 Ohms. However, there are many ways to calculate the effect, and it is therefore often not particularly comparable from one amplifier brand to another. We recommend that you contact us for advice and guidance on choosing an amplifier depending on your needs, and possibly what suits your speakers.
