Almost 100 years ago, the great Danish success story began, which later became the Ortofon we know today. On October 9, 1918, the two Danish engineers Axel Petersen (1887-1971) and Arnold Poulsen (1889-1952) founded the 'Electric Phono Film Company' in Copenhagen together with a couple of forward-thinking businessmen who wanted to support the organization financially. Their goal was to explore the possibility of high-quality sound recording and to develop one of the first sound-synchronized film systems in the world.
