Highlights:• Exclusive moving coil cartridge from Ortofon• New Vertex Diamond with advanced line contact geometry • Solid diamond cantilever for precise energy transfer • Titanium housing manufactured with Selective Laser Melting • High-purity silver coils and non-magnetic armature • Wide Range Damping for controlled and stable performance Ortofon MC Vertex cartridge with extreme precision:Ortofon MC Vertex is an exclusive moving coil cartridge created for serious vinyl enthusiasts who demand maximum precision, low distortion, and an exceptionally natural sound reproduction. The cartridge has been developed as a complete system where the diamond, cantilever, housing, coils, and damping work together in perfect balance. The new Vertex Diamond features an advanced line contact geometry with a large contact surface against the groove walls, delivering more stable tracking, improved pressure distribution, and more accurate retrieval of even the smallest details hidden within the record groove. The solid diamond cantilever provides low mass and exceptional rigidity, ensuring that groove movements are transferred quickly and with full control.Titanium, silver coils, and advanced damping:MC Vertex is built with a titanium housing and internal core produced using Selective Laser Melting, providing extremely precise control over geometry, mass distribution, and mechanical stability. This helps reduce unwanted resonances and ensures cleaner signal reproduction. The refined magnetic system uses a non-magnetic armature combined with high-purity silver coils, resulting in stable signal generation, fast transient response, and precise tracking across the entire frequency range. Ortofon’s Wide Range Damping system with a platinum disc and specially developed rubber dampers controls mechanical resonances without sacrificing musical dynamics or openness. The result is a high-end cartridge with impressive resolution, precise stereo imaging, and a transparent sound presentation that allows every detail of the recording to stand out with clarity and realism.Specifications:• Model: Ortofon MC Vertex• Cartridge type: Moving Coil • Output voltage: 0.3 mV • Cantilever material: Solid Diamond • Stylus profile: Vertex Diamond • Stylus type: Nude • Stylus tip radius: r/R 4/110 µm • Stylus suspension system: Wide Range Damping • Coil system: Quad coils • Coil wire: High-purity silver • Channel balance at 1 kHz: 0.1 dB • Channel separation at 1 kHz: 30 dB • Frequency response: 20 Hz - 20 kHz, +/-1 dB • Dynamic lateral compliance: 9 µm/mN • Recommended tracking force: 2.5 grams • Recommended load resistance: > 100 Ohm • Internal impedance, DC resistance: 19 Ohm • Cartridge weight: 15 grams • Housing material: Titanium • Manufacturing process: Selective Laser Melting Product reviews and links

More than 100 years ago, the great Danish success story began, which later became the Ortofon we know today. On October 9, 1918, the two Danish engineers Axel Petersen (1887-1971) and Arnold Poulsen (1889-1952) founded the 'Electric Phono Film Company' in Copenhagen along with a few forward-thinking businessmen who wanted to financially support the organization. Their goal was to explore the possibility of high-class sound recording and to develop one of the first sound-synchronized film systems in the world.
In 1948, Ortofon developed their first Moving Coil cartridge and since then more than 300 different cartridge's have been developed and produced - Today, Ortofon A/S employs more than 100 staff at their headquarters in Nakskov, Denmark, where Ortofon is not only the world's leading manufacturer of cartridge's with sales of over 500,000 units per year, but also the largest producer of cartridge's in the world. In addition to catridge, Ortofon also produces a myriad of accessories for turntables in general. Ortofon is a shining example of a Danish brand that reaches far beyond the country's borders and is therefore also sold in more than 60 countries, including the United States and Japan.
