The Musical Fidelity A1 is back and better than ever. This 2023 version pays tribute to the legendary 1985 original that revolutionized Hi-Fi with its warm, detailed sound and pure Class A topology. The new edition preserves the signature symmetrical circuitry, high-grade components and iconic design while incorporating modern enhancements like reduced noise, improved efficiency and increased reliability.

Power delivery and precision refined:

The updated A1 features a dual mono split rail transformer that supplies each channel independently, resulting in a more stable operation, enhanced stereo imaging and lower noise. Each amplifier channel now has double the current capacity and improved filtering to minimize ripple and power surges. The low-noise JFET preamp ensures clean signal handling, and a new "direct" switch allows the gain stage to be bypassed, reducing gain by 10 dB – ideal for sensitive speakers or high-output digital sources.

A1’s phono stage has been refined for both MM and MC cartridges, using a discrete current-mode input for ultra-low noise.
