The combination allows the wired Astra IEMs to be connected to the GO blu Air, while music is received wirelessly from a compatible phone, tablet or other Bluetooth source.AIRO Astra features titanium-plated dynamic drivers designed to deliver smooth and natural sound reproduction. The ergonomic shell design is also developed with comfort in mind. Together with the compact GO blu Air, the Starter Kit provides both the IEMs and the Bluetooth DAC/headphone amplifier used to drive them. The GO blu Air weighs just 31 g and features a detachable magnetic clip, allowing the unit to be attached to clothing or a bag. This makes the kit a compact solution for combining wired IEMs with a wireless Bluetooth connection to the audio source. Bluetooth 5.2 and dedicated hi-fi circuitry:GO blu Air uses Bluetooth 5.2 and supports LDAC, LHDC/HWA, aptX Adaptive, aptX HD, aptX, AAC and SBC. The wide selection of codecs allows it to use the format supported by the connected Bluetooth device while providing flexibility across a variety of compatible audio sources.Internally, the signal path is divided into individually optimised stages for Bluetooth reception, digital-to-analogue conversion and headphone amplification. The Qualcomm QCC5144 handles Bluetooth reception, after which the audio signal is passed to a Cirrus Logic DAC and a twin-mono amplifier stage. GO blu Air also uses iFi's ultra-low jitter GMT clocking. Both a balanced 4.4 mm headphone output and a 3.5 mm S-Balanced output are provided. The balanced output delivers at least 262 mW/2.9 V at 32 Ohm and at least 52 mW/5.6 V at 600 Ohm. The 3.5 mm output delivers at least 165 mW/2.3 V at 32 Ohm and at least 14 mW/2.9 V at 600 Ohm. The S-Balanced circuitry is designed to reduce crosstalk and distortion and is particularly relevant when used with sensitive IEMs. Adjust the sound directly from GO blu Air:GO blu Air features the analogue XBass and XSpace sound functions. XBass works with the bass range and can add extra weight to the lower frequencies, while XSpace is designed to create a greater sense of spaciousness in the soundstage. The two functions can be activated individually or combined. Standard and Minimum Phase digital filter settings are also available for further adjustment of the sound processing.Operation is handled in part through the integrated ChronoDial. The rotary control provides precise volume adjustment, while pressing it gives access to playback, pause and track navigation. A long press can activate the voice assistant on a connected smartphone. The built-in MEMS microphone uses Qualcomm noise and echo suppression and enables GO blu Air to be used for hands-free calls, voice chat and access to the device's voice assistant. The built-in 450 mAh lithium-polymer battery provides up to approx. 10 hours of playback depending on factors such as volume and the headphones being used.
