Mechanical soul meets vinyl:

The Pro-Ject Harley-Davidson Turntable is a Limited Special Edition where classic motorcycle identity has been transformed into a serious high-end turntable. The shape of the solid chassis draws direct inspiration from Harley-Davidson's distinctive Bar & Shield logo, while aluminium, stainless steel and the included leather mat emphasise its mechanical character. You could call it a Harley that prefers to stay parked in the living room.

Beneath the design is a construction where resonance control plays a central role. The chassis uses a heavy Alu-MDF sandwich construction, with a solid MDF section free from hollow spaces. A precision-milled aluminium top surface adds further rigidity. The result is a foundation designed to limit unwanted vibrations and provide stable operating conditions for the cartridge and tonearm. Handmade in Europe, the turntable combines its unmistakable Harley-Davidson appearance with Pro-Ject's established principles of mechanical turntable construction.

Heavy drive system with precise speed:

There is plenty of attention to motor performance here too, although thankfully without any exhaust pipes. The turntable uses a belt drive and AC synchronous motor powered by a precision DC/AC generator. The generator supplies stable power to the motor, while the precision-manufactured aluminium motor pulley and diamond-cut aluminium sub-platter transfer rotation to the heavy glass platter.

The total moving mass of the drive system is 2.75 kg. This high mass contributes to stable rotation, while the aluminium sub-platter also provides additional damping compared with a lighter plastic construction. The main platter is made from glass, a hard and inert material selected to help control resonances. The included leather mat sits on top, while the record can be secured using the specially designed 915 g Harley-Davidson record puck. Speed is switched electronically between 33 and 45 RPM, eliminating the need to move the belt manually between the two playback speeds.

Hand-polished tonearm and Pick it PRO:

The 8.6" S-shaped tonearm is made from aluminium and hand-polished. Its construction uses ultra-low-friction precision bearings together with a TPE-damped counterweight system that helps control unwanted resonances. Anti-skating is handled by an adaptive gravity-based system that changes the effective anti-skating force as the tonearm moves across the record.

The tonearm is fitted with an SME headshell and comes with a factory-adjusted Pro-Ject Pick it PRO MM cartridge, so the essential cartridge geometry is already set up at the factory. The SME headshell's precision connection also allows other compatible cartridges to be used later, including MC designs. The signal path includes internal copper wiring and a 5-pin DIN phono output. A Connect it Phono E 5P/RCA cable with copper conductor and semi-balanced construction is included for connection between the turntable and the rest of the audio system.

Stable right down to the feet:

Three height-adjustable aluminium feet with TPE damping provide mechanical isolation from the supporting surface and allow the turntable to be levelled correctly. It is not just about keeping the Harley logo straight. A level turntable is important for tonearm geometry, tracking accuracy and channel balance.

The construction therefore brings several forms of mechanical control together in one turntable: a resonance-damped chassis, heavy drive system, precision motor control, damped feet and an advanced tonearm. The Harley-Davidson design is difficult to overlook, but this special edition was not created simply for display. Beneath the leather, aluminium and Bar & Shield silhouette is a complete Pro-Ject turntable engineered for serious vinyl playback.
