Each pod connects to an IEM via an interchangeable ear loop, while Bluetooth 5.2 provides the wireless connection to a phone, tablet or other compatible Bluetooth audio source. Ear loops for both 0.78 mm 2-pin and MMCX connections are included, while iFi also offers additional connector types separately.GO pod Air supports a wide selection of Bluetooth codecs: LDAC, LHDC/HWA, aptX Adaptive, aptX, AAC and SBC. This allows you to use a codec that matches the capabilities of the connected source device. LDAC and LHDC/HWA are supported at up to 32-bit/96 kHz when supported by the source and connection. Separate signal path and automatic impedance matching:Rather than relying on a single chip to handle Bluetooth reception, digital-to-analogue conversion and amplification, GO pod Air uses separate stages for these functions. The Bluetooth signal is received by a Qualcomm QCC514x-based circuit before being passed to a Cirrus Logic MasterHIFI DAC and then to the balanced amplifier stage. This architecture follows an approach that is closer to a traditional Hi-Fi signal path than the integrated architecture commonly found in true wireless earphones.Automatic impedance matching detects the connected IEM and selects between levels for 16, 32 and 64 Ohm. This makes it easier to pair the adapter with different IEM models without manually setting the impedance level. The frequency response is specified at 10 Hz - 40 kHz at -3 dB via LDAC, while the signal-to-noise ratio is at least 124 dBA at 64 Ohm. Touch controls and microphones for calls:GO pod Air offers more than wireless audio conversion. Touch surfaces on both pods provide direct control over music, volume and phone calls. They can also be used to activate compatible voice assistants such as Siri and Google Assistant. The touch controls can be disabled, reducing the risk of accidental commands while moving.Each pod features a microphone, with Qualcomm cVc noise suppression used to reduce unwanted noise during calls. This means connected IEMs can also be used for hands-free calls and communication without requiring a separate microphone solution. Compact design with IPX5 rating:Each GO pod Air weighs 10 g and features a built-in 180 mAh battery. Battery life is up to approximately 7 hours, while the compact charging case and its 580 mAh battery extend the total operating time to up to approximately 15 hours. Charging is handled via USB-C.The pods have an IPX5 water resistance rating. Combined with the compact design, this makes GO pod Air suitable for taking compatible IEMs into situations where a conventional wired connection is less practical. The charging case also provides both storage and additional battery capacity when the pods are not in use.
