Powerful 7.2-channel home cinema with Dolby Atmos:

The Marantz CINEMA 60DAB SERIES 2 is a 7.2-channel AV receiver designed for surround systems where movies, music and gaming are brought together in one central unit. Its seven discrete power amplifier channels deliver 100 W per channel at 8 Ohm, measured from 20 Hz to 20 kHz with 0.08% distortion and two channels driven. The receiver supports Dolby Atmos, Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Surround, DTS:X, DTS Neural:X and DTS Virtual:X, allowing it to handle both traditional surround configurations and speaker setups with height information.

The audio section uses Marantz HDAM-SA2 circuitry, Current Feedback topology and an upgraded 32-bit 8-channel DAC. A 7.2-channel pre-out also allows the receiver to be connected to external power amplifiers, while two separate subwoofer outputs provide flexible bass integration. Pure Direct offers a more direct signal path when unnecessary signal processing is not required.

8K HDMI for movies and gaming:

The CINEMA 60DAB SERIES 2 features six HDMI inputs and two HDMI outputs, with the main output supporting eARC. Three of the HDMI inputs handle 8K/60 Hz and 4K/120 Hz passthrough with bandwidth up to 40 Gbps. This makes the receiver suitable for modern TVs, game consoles and other video sources with high frame rates and resolutions. The HDMI video section also supports HDR, HLG, Dolby Vision, HDR10+, Dynamic HDR and HDCP 2.3.

Gaming features include ALLM, VRR, Quick Frame Transport and AMD FreeSync on HDMI inputs 4-6. The receiver can also upscale HDMI signals from 1080p or 4K to 8K. Two HDMI outputs allow connection to two displays, while Auto LipSync helps keep audio and video synchronized. HDMI signals can also pass through the receiver while it is in standby mode.

Streaming, multi-room and room correction:

HEOS is integrated directly into the receiver, providing access to network streaming and multi-room playback together with other compatible HEOS devices. Music can be played through services including Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect, Qobuz Connect, Amazon Music, Amazon Music HD, Deezer, SoundCloud and TuneIn. The receiver also supports AirPlay 2 and is Roon Ready. Network connectivity is available via Wi-Fi or Ethernet, while Bluetooth can be used both for wireless playback and for transmitting receiver audio to compatible Bluetooth headphones.

Hi-Res Audio support includes FLAC, WAV and ALAC up to 24-bit/192 kHz as well as DSD at 2.8 and 5.6 MHz. Audyssey MultEQ XT can measure the speakers and listening room using the supplied microphone and adjust playback accordingly. Audyssey Dynamic EQ and Dynamic Volume are also supported. The receiver is additionally prepared for an optional Dirac Live upgrade.

Flexible connections for digital and analogue sources:

In addition to HDMI, there are four analogue audio inputs, a phono input for turntables with MM cartridges, and two optical plus two coaxial digital inputs. The front USB input can be used for audio playback, and a USB power supply is also available on the rear panel. Seven speaker terminals can be configured for different setups, including bi-amping and Zone 2, and the receiver includes an analogue Zone 2 pre-out.

The built-in tuner in the DAB model receives FM, DAB and DAB+, allowing conventional radio broadcasts to be enjoyed without a separate tuner. Operation is complemented by the Marantz AVR Remote and HEOS apps, along with a modern HD graphical interface displayed on the TV. The front panel features Marantz's characteristic circular OLED display, while Setup Assistant helps with the receiver's initial configuration.
