Its seven built-in power amplifier channels deliver 50 W per channel at 8 Ohm, measured from 20 Hz to 20 kHz with 0.08% distortion and two channels driven.The receiver supports Dolby Atmos and DTS:X, allowing a compatible speaker system to reproduce sound with a distinct spatial dimension. Dolby Atmos Height Virtualization and DTS Virtual:X also provide virtualised height information. The upgraded 32-bit 8-channel DAC is designed to improve clarity, resolution and dynamic range across connected audio sources. Audyssey MultEQ XT provides automatic room correction using the included calibration microphone. Audyssey Dynamic EQ and Dynamic Volume are also integrated, while Dirac Live can be added as a separate upgrade. This provides flexible options for adapting the receiver's performance to the speakers, their placement and the acoustic characteristics of the room. HDMI for 8K, 4K/120 Hz and modern gaming:CINEMA 70s SERIES 2 features six HDMI inputs and one HDMI output with eARC. Three of the HDMI inputs support signals up to 8K/60 Hz and 4K/120 Hz with bandwidth up to 40 Gbps. The receiver can also upscale HDMI signals from 1080p and 4K to 8K.Video support includes HDR, HLG, HDR10+, Dynamic HDR and Dolby Vision. Gaming features include ALLM, VRR and Quick Frame Transport, while AMD FreeSync is supported on HDMI inputs 4-6. This makes the receiver suitable as a central connection point for TVs, game consoles, media players and other HDMI sources with high video resolutions and frame rates. For legacy and dedicated audio sources, there are three analogue inputs, one optical and one coaxial digital input, plus an MM phono input for a turntable. A 7.2-channel pre-out also allows external power amplifiers to be used. The receiver has two subwoofer outputs, seven speaker terminals and supports configurations including bi-amping or Zone 2 speakers. HEOS, streaming and multi-room music:With HEOS integrated, CINEMA 70s SERIES 2 can be incorporated into a compatible multi-room system and controlled through the HEOS app. The receiver supports Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect and Qobuz Connect as well as Amazon Music, Amazon Music HD, Deezer, iHeartRadio and SoundCloud. AirPlay 2, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and Ethernet provide multiple options for wireless and network playback, and the model is also Roon Ready.The network player supports lossless audio formats including FLAC, WAV and ALAC up to 192 kHz/24-bit, as well as DSD at 2.8 and 5.6 MHz. Gapless playback is supported for FLAC, WAV, ALAC and DSD. Bluetooth can also transmit audio from the receiver to compatible Bluetooth headphones, including volume control for the Bluetooth transmitter. HEOS also makes it possible to combine the receiver with other HEOS-compatible devices and control music in multiple rooms from the same app. Zone 2 can use analogue sources, network audio, USB and 2-channel audio from optical and coaxial inputs.
