This could, for example, be a B&O music system and a TV, or a combination of a classic Bang & Olufsen system and a newer TV setup via Neo 7, Neo TV or Neo 10.The two audio sources are connected to separate Powerlink inputs, while the BeoLab speakers are connected to the shared Powerlink output. This allows the speakers to remain permanently connected instead of having to move Powerlink cables between devices. Both inputs operate in the same way and can be used with B&O or Neo products featuring a Powerlink output. The solution can be combined with BeoSound, Beomaster and Beocenter systems as well as compatible BeoVision models. This makes Neo Hub Basic suitable for installations where classic and newer B&O equipment need to share an existing BeoLab speaker system. Automatic source selection with two profiles:Neo Hub Basic monitors activity on the two Powerlink inputs and automatically controls which source is connected to the speakers. This eliminates the need for a separate manual switch when changing between TV audio and music during everyday use.The unit offers two profiles that determine how switching is handled when both sources are part of the installation. In Profile 1, the most recently activated source plays. If the active source is switched off or muted, the other active source can automatically take over. Profile 2 uses a fixed priority based on the source that was activated first. The second source can take over temporarily, but when it stops, playback returns to the prioritised source. The priority is reset when both sources have been switched off. The profile is selected on Neo Hub Basic, allowing source management to be adapted to the specific B&O installation. Powerlink for classic and newer BeoLab speakers:Connections are made using standard B&O Powerlink with 8-pin DIN connectors. Neo Hub Basic has two Powerlink inputs, PL A and PL B, plus one Powerlink output, PL OUT, for the active BeoLab speakers.The unit supports BeoLab models with Powerlink, including BeoLab 5, BeoLab Penta, BeoLab 8000, BeoLab 12 and BeoLab 18. Models with display functionality are also supported, including the display on BeoLab Penta. If the installation includes multiple speakers, Powerlink splitter cables can be used. Neo Hub Basic requires its own power supply. Once the two required Powerlink sources and the speakers are connected, source selection is handled according to the selected profile. This provides an integrated Powerlink solution where existing BeoLab speakers can be used with both a music system and a TV without repeatedly reconnecting cables. Neo is the Greek-Latin name for new, and renewal is exactly the vision of the company – to give older B&O speakers a renewed life together with e.g. modern TV screens.
