Danish High End loudspeaker focused on resolution:

The Raidho X2.6 is a floorstanding High End loudspeaker from the Danish X Series, developed with a focus on very low sonic coloration, high levels of detail and a large soundstage. The design is based on Raidho's own loudspeaker drivers, which are manufactured in-house in Denmark. This gives the manufacturer control over key elements of the loudspeaker's acoustic design and forms an important part of the philosophy behind the X2.6.

The loudspeaker is designed to reproduce both subtle details and pronounced dynamic shifts without making the sound unnecessarily harsh or intrusive. Raidho particularly emphasizes the ambition of creating a wide, holographic soundstage in which the loudspeakers themselves are perceived as little as possible as the physical sources of the sound. The frequency range extends from 32 Hz to 50 kHz, allowing the X2.6 to combine deep bass reproduction with extensive reach at the upper end of the frequency spectrum.

Ultra-light planar magnetic tweeter:

A central element of the Raidho X2.6 is the manufacturer's own planar magnetic ribbon tweeter, developed and hand-built in Denmark. Its diaphragm consists of an extremely thin 11-micron foil weighing approximately 20 mg. The design uses conductive tracks directly on the foil and therefore does not require the traditional voice coil found in many conventional dome tweeters.

The exceptionally low moving mass allows the diaphragm to respond rapidly to changes in the signal. Raidho specifies the tweeter's breakup frequency at 82 kHz, well above the loudspeaker's specified upper frequency limit of 50 kHz. The purpose of the design is to reduce resonances, distortion and coloration while preserving fine information in the recording. The tweeter technology used in the X2.6 is also derived from development work carried out for Raidho's larger TD6 model.

Designed for a large and precise soundstage:

The X2.6 is developed around Raidho's characteristic focus on spatial reproduction. The manufacturer's goal is to position instruments and voices clearly within a wide and deep soundstage while maintaining a quiet background with minimal unwanted coloration. The low distortion of the drivers plays a central role in this approach.

Placement in the listening room is therefore important to the final result. Raidho recommends experimenting with both the distance from the walls and the toe-in of the loudspeakers to optimize tonal balance, stereo imaging and center focus. The tweeter has relatively narrow vertical dispersion, making listening height another relevant consideration during setup. The cabinet uses a vented design with rear-firing ports, which should also be taken into account when positioning the loudspeakers.

Amplification and physical construction:

With a sensitivity of 87 dB at 2.83 V and a nominal impedance above 6 Ohm, the Raidho X2.6 places specific requirements on the connected amplifier. Raidho specifies a minimum amplifier power of 100 W and recommends 200 W or more into 8 Ohm as a starting point for the model. A suitable amplifier therefore provides the necessary operating conditions for the loudspeaker's dynamic capabilities.

The X2.6 measures 106.5 x 36 x 41 cm including feet and weighs 30 kg. It is a full-size floorstanding loudspeaker while retaining a relatively slim profile when viewed from the front. Standard versions are available in black or white piano finish, while custom colors can be ordered according to Raidho. The combination of its floorstanding construction, vented cabinet and Raidho's proprietary drivers makes the X2.6 a loudspeaker designed for serious stereo systems where resolution, dynamics and spatial reproduction are key priorities.

Raidho is part of Dantax A/S, a Danish company with deep roots in the hi-fi industry and more than 50 years of experience in the development, production and sale of audio products. Dantax A/S is listed on the Copenhagen Stock Exchange and is behind several respected brands, including Raidho, Scansonic and Harmony.
