Compact Raidho speaker with advanced driver technology:

The Raidho X1.6 is a compact 2-way standmount speaker with a cabinet, drivers and choice of materials developed with a focus on precise and open reproduction. The front features a substantial 20 mm thick cast aluminium baffle. This solid construction provides a stable foundation for both Raidho's distinctive Ribbon tweeter and the 6.5" Ceramix bass/midrange driver.

The X1.6 uses a vented bass reflex design with the port positioned on the rear of the cabinet. Despite its compact dimensions, the specified frequency range extends down to 45 Hz at +/-3 dB. The combination of the large 6.5" driver and Raidho's proprietary tweeter technology makes the X1.6 an interesting choice for listeners seeking a compact speaker design without moving directly to a floorstanding model.

Planar Magnetic Ribbon tweeter with extremely low diaphragm mass:

The tweeter is Raidho's proprietary Planar Magnetic Ribbon design, developed and handcrafted in-house in Denmark. Its diaphragm consists of an exceptionally thin 11-micron foil weighing just 20 mg. According to Raidho, this results in approximately 50 times less mass than a conventional dome tweeter. The design does not use a traditional voice coil, as the electrical conductor tracks are integrated into the foil.

The extremely low moving mass is designed to reduce resonances and distortion while providing a fast response. Raidho specifies the tweeter's breakup frequency at 82 kHz, while the complete X1.6 speaker has a specified frequency range extending to 50 kHz at +/-3 dB. The two drivers cross over at 3.5 kHz, where the Ribbon tweeter takes over the upper frequency range from the Ceramix driver.

6.5" Ceramix driver developed and built by Raidho:

Bass and midrange frequencies are handled by Raidho's 6.5" Ceramix driver. The technology is based on a thin aluminium diaphragm, where the outer surface is converted into aluminium oxide ceramic through a plasma and high-voltage process. The result is a sandwich-like structure with rigid ceramic surfaces surrounding a softer aluminium core. Raidho has chosen this construction to combine high rigidity with effective internal damping and specifies the diaphragm's first breakup at 12.5 kHz.

The driver's motor system uses powerful neodymium magnets and an open construction that provides ventilation around a titanium voice coil. Together with the Ribbon tweeter, the Ceramix driver gives the X1.6 a technical foundation developed specifically for Raidho's X Series rather than relying on standard drivers from external suppliers.

Amplifier matching and compact dimensions:

With a sensitivity of 87 dB at 2.83 V/m and a nominal impedance above 6 Ohm, the X1.6 is specified for amplifier power above 50 W. Raidho's own user manual states 50 W as the minimum and recommends 100 W or more into 8 Ohm for the X1.6. This provides a practical reference when selecting an amplifier for the speaker.

The cabinet measures 36 x 20 x 26.5 cm (H x W x L), and each speaker weighs 11.5 kg. The relatively high weight compared with the cabinet dimensions is partly due to the substantial cast aluminium front baffle. The X1.6 is available in black piano lacquer or white piano lacquer, allowing the compact speaker to integrate into different stereo systems.

Brand description - Raidho Acoustics

Raidho Acoustics

Raidho, uncompromising Danish high-end sound:

Raidho is part of Dantax A/S, a Danish company with deep roots in the hi-fi industry and more than 50 years of experience in the development, production and sale of audio products. Dantax A/S is listed on the Copenhagen Stock Exchange and is behind several respected brands, including Raidho, Scansonic and Harmony. Through a combination of Danish innovation, technical expertise and a passion for music reproduction, the company has helped shape the development of loudspeakers and high-end audio for decades.

The story began in 1971 when Dantax was founded with a vision of creating quality sound for music lovers. During the early years, speaker drivers were sourced from external manufacturers and assembled in Denmark, but increasing demand quickly led to the establishment of the company's own production facilities in Pandrup. As the hi-fi market experienced strong growth throughout the 1970s, Dantax became a recognised name among audio enthusiasts, known for high quality and excellent value for money.

From loudspeaker manufacturing to global recognition:

In 1977, Dantax acquired the world-renowned driver manufacturer Scan Speak, marking a decisive step in the company's development. At the same time, Scansonic became part of the portfolio, and the combined expertise of Dantax and Scan Speak resulted in a range of highly regarded loudspeaker models. In 1984, the company reached another important milestone when it was listed on the Copenhagen Stock Exchange.

Over the years, Dantax has also served as a distributor for several international hi-fi brands, building extensive knowledge of audio technology and market developments. In 1997, the original loudspeaker factory was sold, after which development and production continued in close cooperation with specialised partners around the world.

Raidho and the future of high-end loudspeakers:

One of the most significant chapters in the company's history began in 2009 when Dantax acquired the Raidho project. Since then, Raidho has established itself as one of the most respected names in high-end loudspeakers, audiophile sound and exclusive hi-fi. The loudspeakers are renowned for their advanced technology, exceptional precision and ability to reproduce music with remarkable detail and naturalness. International reviews, awards and recognition from hi-fi exhibitions and audio specialists worldwide have reinforced Raidho's position among the world's leading manufacturers of high-end audio equipment.

Today, Raidho continues the Danish tradition of uncompromising quality and innovation. At the same time, the company benefits from the experience and expertise that Dantax has built over decades. The result is loudspeakers that combine advanced engineering, premium materials and a listening experience of the highest calibre. Although the company's history spans several generations, its ambition remains unchanged, to create some of the world's most impressive loudspeakers for passionate music lovers and audiophile enthusiasts.
