Powerful 18" subwoofer for fixed installations:

The Bose Professional ShowTime STS118E is a passive 18" installation subwoofer designed for sound systems requiring high output and solid low-frequency reproduction. Its frequency range extends from 29 Hz to 263 Hz at -10 dB, while the 18" high-excursion woofer provides a powerful foundation in the bass range. Sensitivity is 96 dB SPL at 1 W/1 m, while calculated maximum sound pressure reaches 125 dB in free-field and 131 dB in half-space at 1 metre.

The STS118E has a nominal impedance of 8 Ohm and peak power handling of 3200 W. The subwoofer requires an active crossover in DSP with a crossover range of 80-200 Hz. This makes it suitable as a low-frequency extension for compatible professional loudspeaker systems, where the system DSP, amplification and crossover frequencies can be configured for the specific installation.

Flexible placement and mounting:

The enclosure is designed for installation use and can be placed ground-stacked or incorporated into a permanently mounted solution. Four stainless-steel M10 attachment points on the top panel provide suspension options when the installation layout or sightlines require an alternative to floor placement.

An integrated pole cup on the top panel supports both standard 35 mm loudspeaker poles and M20-threaded poles. This allows a compatible full-range loudspeaker to be positioned above the subwoofer in setups where pole mounting is appropriate. The STS118E is designed to work with Bose Professional AMU, AMM and Forum loudspeaker systems, allowing the subwoofer to serve as the dedicated low-frequency section of a complete Bose Professional system.

IP55 construction for indoor and outdoor use:

The ShowTime STS118E is constructed from exterior-grade birch plywood and features a powder-coated, perforated stainless-steel grille. The enclosure is IP55-rated according to IEC 60529 and specified for directly exposed outdoor installations. This extends its application to outdoor gathering spaces, sports facilities and other installations where the loudspeaker equipment may be exposed to the elements.

The subwoofer is available in black or white, making it easier to integrate into different architectural environments. With dimensions of 56.3 x 57.0 x 73.8 cm (H x W x L), the enclosure combines an 18" driver with mounting options designed for permanent professional AV installations.
