Should a real cinema atmosphere be achieved, there is no way around surround speakers. The surroundspeakers, ceiling- or elevation speakers ensure that you get the sound completely under your skin, with sound effects that fly around the room and build up the universe of the film with Dolby Atmos and DTS-X sound formats. Every home cinema with respect for itself has at least one set of good rear speakers, but preferably also side and ceiling speakers (Atmos) to create an authentic cinema experience.

If you are in doubt about how to best place your surround speakers, Dolby has created a fantastic speaker guide, with good tips and advice.
