The closed-back design reduces the influence of ambient sound and makes the headphones suitable for situations where sound isolation is important. This includes recording and monitoring applications where sound from the headphones should not interfere with microphones.The circumaural ear pads surround the ears, while the robust, adjustable and padded headband provides a secure fit. The construction is designed with professional use in mind, where headphones may be worn throughout extended working sessions. The DT 770 PRO also features a single-sided cable, with the cable connected to only one ear cup. The wide frequency response of 5 - 35,000 Hz is combined with a nominal sound pressure level of 96 dB and total harmonic distortion below 0.2%. All three versions are supplied with a 3.5 mm stereo jack and 6.35 mm adapter, allowing connection to different types of audio equipment. 32 Ohm - for mobile and lower-powered audio sources:The DT 770 PRO 32 Ohm is designed for audio sources where the available output voltage is typically lower. This makes the version suitable for computer sound cards, audio interfaces, portable recorders and mobile players. The lower impedance allows the headphones to achieve a higher sound level at a lower voltage compared with the 250 Ohm version.The 32 Ohm model also differs physically from the other two versions. It comes with black softskin ear pads and a 1.6 metre straight cable. The additional cable length provides greater freedom of movement around an audio interface, instrument or other studio equipment. The 80 Ohm version uses a different voice coil construction from the 32 and 250 Ohm models, meaning that the three impedance versions are not simply electrically different versions of exactly the same driver construction. 250 Ohm - for stationary professional equipment:The DT 770 PRO 250 Ohm is designed for stationary audio sources with a headphone output suitable for high-impedance headphones. Beyerdynamic highlights studio monitor controllers, hi-fi amplifiers and dedicated headphone amplifiers as relevant audio sources for this version.The 250 Ohm version comes with silver velour ear pads and a 3 metre coiled cable. The coiled cable provides good reach while keeping part of the cable length compact when its full extension is not required. The combination of high impedance and a coiled cable makes this version particularly suited to stationary studio setups and professional audio equipment.
