This CAT5 USB extender from Lindy can be used to extend a USB cable up to 50 meters. The package consists of a local device, which is connected to the computer with USB, and an external device that is connected to a hard disk, Mp3 player, or similar. A standard CAT5 / 5e / 6 cable (a standard network cable) is connected between the two devices and now USB signals can be sent all the way up to 100 meters, where a USB cable cannot normally be pulled longer than 5 meters.

For added convenience this USB 2.0 Extender is supplied with a power supply, which can be connected should additional power be required.

*Please Note: this extender might not support USB devices that require high bandwidths such as Full HD webcams.
