Powered Zone 2 is a feature predominantly found in surround receivers with a minimum of 7 powered channels. It allows a set of speakers in an adjacent room to be connected and playing select audio sources, without interfering with the main surround setup.
The device needs a separate adaptor in order to connect to a wireless network. Often adaptor and device need to be from the same manufacturer. The feature is rarely seen anymore, as implementation of Wi-Fi becomes easier and less costly.
Wi-Fi wireless LAN build-in
The device can connect to a wireless network out of the box, either through a built-in function, or through an adaptor included in the packaging.
WiSA - Wireless Speaker & Audio
The Wireless Speaker & Audio (WiSA) Association is an industry group dedicated to implement wireless technology surround sound systems and speakers. The vision is to rid the installation of speaker wires and clunky AV receivers, while achieving quality audio and stable, synchronized connection.
WiSA can be freely adopted by any manufacturer who wishes to do so. Among the first movers are Klipsch and B&O.
